Legacy of 'Edward Alfred (Ted) Lewis'

Ted on the Get Carter set 1970

Alfred Edward Lewis was born in Stretford, Manchester in January 1940 as an only child.  In 1946, the family moved to Barton-upon-Humber in Lincolnshire. 


When he was six, Lewis contracted rheumatic fever and spent time recovering, spending this time reading and drawing. These activities defined his lifetime talents.

    • Hit Man (1972) with Bernie Casey and Pam Grier

  • Plender has been adapted as a French film:
    • Le Serpent (2007)
